Overdue Books
There are no fines for the majority of the books in the Library.
Exceptions
- Lost books. A book six weeks overdue will be considered lost. Bills for lost books are calculated on the basis of the average price of a book plus a processing charge (R 50.00). Borrowing privileges are automatically suspended and sanctions will be applied by the Registrar until the bill is settled. Refunds for books found and returned at a later date are made with the processing charge deducted.
- Damaged books. If a book is damaged while checked out to a patron, the book must be paid for or replaced. Bills for damaged books are calculated on the basis of the average price of a book plus a processing charge (R 50.00). Borrowing privileges are automatically suspended and sanctions will be applied by the Registrar until the bill is settled. For more information, please refer to the Circulation Librarian.
Payment
Payments are made through step 7 and the slip suppose to be returned back to the circulation desk for clearance.
